A New Location!!!

Hello All!  This has been an eventful and confusing couple of days that is resulting in me changing my blog location...don't worry, not going far!  Here is the new place!
If you've checked Rachel's site recently, you know the more detailed version of what we're up to...Exciting stuff for us, this is just the beginning of what we have always wanted to do, YAY!!! 
Oh Yeah, pointers of all sorts are warmly welcomed!!! : )

Happy New Year!

Well first things first... I suppose I should tell everyone the fabulous ending to the N.I.C.U. Hats story!  Matt, Delaney & I went on Christmas Morning only to be welcomed as if we were celebrities.  All of the Nurses were so excited to see us and even more excited to see Delaney, they fussed over her like it was going out of style, and that is always fun!  They took her picture and put it up on the NICU wall and begged us to bring her back to visit more often!  Then, I took out the hats and you woulda thought I had a bag full of babies the way everyone was squealing and carrying on!  This all made me feel like the greatest person ever for the moment... there were 7 babies and 7 hats, and they could not have been more greatful and excited about the gesture.  All in all it was a really good experience and one of those times where you just feel good about being alive!

On to the new year!  Or the old year rather... 2004 was not too shabby!  Unless, of course, you are bothered by the fact that it went by WAY TOO FAST!  I'm guessing I'm not the only one who has realized that once you have a child, your time passes a whole heck-of-a-lot faster.  So even though I hardly remember the year actually taking place, lets see if I can remember the highlights...

1. Sweet Delaney completed the 13th-24th months of her life!
2. She also made the flawless and graceful transition from nursery to full-fledged Big-Kid room!
3. We fully mastered Potty Training (daytime & night-time) around month 20.
4. And sometime during this year she went from just saying words to speaking in paragraphs, telling stories, singing entire songs including the alphabet, learning all her shapes, numbers & colors and developing a prize winning little-booty-shake!
5. As for us, aside from doing a great job (if I may say so myself) raising my little bug...   
6. I started the year off with a successful heart surgery, and have had the joy of a year with only one trip to the E.R.
7. Marked off another year of wedded bliss
8. Accomplished pregnancy #2, so Delaney can have a darling little sister
9. Completed our second year of home ownership! : )
10. Got back into yoga full-time, yay!!!
11. And managed to get through the rest with out any (many) broken bones!!! We are kinda clumsy!

So I think that about wraps it up!  We'll just have to wait and see if this year turns out as good as the last...

   

Merry Christmas, a little late...

Holy Crap, Christmas is over!!! It doesn't quite seem possible, does it. We had quite a good one - chalk full of cool new toys, way too much good food (thanks to my mother, who must be on a mission to make us all eat ourselves to death) and lots and lots of family visitors. It was really fun to have such a big group this year, we don't get to do that very often, what with everyone being so spread out and all!  Now all that is left to be done is recovering!  All the clean-up and packing up decorations, and realizing that we have to wait a whole year before we can have all this fun again!

I got a little more belly for christmas, but I'm not sure if it came from the baby or the we-won't-mention-how-many-plates-of-dessert I had!?! Baby and belly are doing quite well, she is very, very active and I love feeling her kick and roll around.  All the normal pregnancy discomforts are settling in a little earlier with this one, but all in all, it's not too bad!

Here are some fun things I've made lately! This is my newest, most favorite-est hat. It is a cable-rib pattern with ear-flaps that I made up all by my big-kid-self!  It looks cute on my Laney-bug too!

These are my color-version of the one-hour booties in the new Stitch & Bitch: Nation book. It's a good one, by the way! These are absolutley teeny and perfect for my new little bundle, think I'll make lots more!

This is such a fun new thing that will definately be doing a lot more of now! It is a little junk book, you can make them in all shapes, sizes, colors and patterns!  You make them totally from scratch, the only 2 things I didn't do here are Make the paper or the ribbon.  Anyhow they are so cute and just perfect for displaying lttle pictures and memories!

Well, there will be much more to post as we get settled into post-Christmas, toys and cute little Delaney and such... Have a safe and fun New Year, it's almost 2005 BABY!

Some Knitting Pictures!

This is what I worked on today!

Made a little progress on the pretty grey scarf, this is the first time I have left a slit to feed the other end thru!

It is turning out quit lovely, but quite tedious for a scarf!!!

This is a pretty little baby-blue cable-knit hat that I think sweet Olivia may have to have, because it was for my aunt Gina and it turned out a little smaller than I expected...so I'll just have to make another one!

And last but not least, as Rachel had requested... This is Phoebe, Delaney's new baby that she got for her Birthday and she is so kindly modeling the NICU hats for us so we can see just how tiny they are! She is pretty close to the actual size of a newborn, Pretty Darn Cute!

Well I've got plenty more to do, including trying to catch my little naked daughter that is running around the house like a crazy person saying "I want presents, I want presents!"  Ta Ta!

Just Keep Knitting!

Well, still knitting, knitting my little fingers away, but still having fun! I'm almost done with christmas stuff, hopefully I'll finish problem-free! I just found myself in a hurry so I'll have to cut this short, but rest assured that I'll return in a bit to finish and say and post much much more! Oh yeah, and I dedicate this illustration to rach, I hope you like it!

Something Nice for the N.I.C.U.

Two years ago at Christmas my little girl was in the N.I.C.U., and for anyone else who has gone through this, you know that it is just about the very worst possible thing!  We had been there for one week when Christmas rolled around and we were devastated that instead of having our baby home, we had to spend Christmas at the hospital... Anyhow this very sweet woman (a grandmother to a former NICU baby) came in that day and gave all of the new Mommy's and Daddy's with sick babies beautiful little blankies that she had knit!  It was just the nicest thing and amidst all the crummy things we were thinking and feeling that really brightened our day!  Well, I decided I wanted to do something nice for the families who are in that situation this year... I have knit some teeny tiny hats that I think will be just darling on those teeny tiny heads!  And here they are...  Only a few more days till Christmas, I am getting quite anxious!!!

Just a few things!

First I would just like to show you all what happens after everyone goes home from the Big 2nd Birthday Party...

Throwing the worlds greatest "Nemo" Birthday Party for your 2 year old.... $100

Buying all the greatest gifts that you can find for her.... $100

Finding her passed out on the floor 30 seconds after everyone left for a post-party snooze.... Priceless!

On to the next... I finally got my new glasses today, it took a while but I'm glad they are here because I need them for the two most important things... Knitting and playing on the computer!  So here is a very NON-glamorous picture of me sporting them, I promise they look cuter in real life, I just forgot to put my face on today!

Well I had planned on saying one more thing, but now I cannot seem to remember what it was.  This happens to me all the time, I guess I'll add it later if I ever remember!

Delaney Turns Two!!!!!!!

Well, we pulled it off and even made it through the day without tears and screaming!!! Delaney was an absolute doll all day, as usual, I just cannot believe that she is 2, she's supposed to stay my baby forever...but she is getting so grown up and so so so smart.  This is her first thing this morning, I asked her when her birthday was and she said "it's December Eighteen Mommy!" and I said "That's today Delaney!" and her eyes got as big as saucers and she gasped with utter joy and excitement!!!  Then there is the NEMO cake, I did it myself, all from scratch, we didn't even have a cake form, pretty good huh?!  And last, there are the lovely decorations, The streamers are compliments of Yaya, she did fabulous, Matt Papu, and Christian did the baloons, Gramma J prepared the snacks and Mommy took care of the cake!

These pictures are just to show how many people were at my house today... 36 people all together... take a deep breath! I cannot believe we pulled it off! And I think it was even fun!

Here is the good stuff... Blowing out the Candles, she did it all by herself, and opening up the loot! Delaney got lots of fun new toys and clothes, mostly stuff for her dolls, she is quite the little mommy. And the vaccuum was a huge hit, she can help me clean up now :)  And can I just say... this little girl is aging quite nicely, she gets prettier every day!  YAY DELANEY, HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, WE LOVE YOU TONS!!!!!

Oooh, I'm gonna be sore tomarrow!

I went to yoga tonight and got my butt kicked, and now I am staying up way too late playing with my blog!  Anyhoo, Rach was requestin an illustration, so here is my my big, fat, pink Holiday Elaphant!  Don't worry, it doesn't really make sense, just kinda funny! I also finished another Christmas gift hat today (for brittany) and it is posted in my Knitted Projects album. And if this all wasn't enough we kicked some major house-cleaning butt today in prep. for the big birthday party, Only 2 days away!!!!!!!  I cannot believe my tiny baby is going to be 2. Tomarrow night is the company Christmas Party and I get to try out my new cute pink shoes, YAY YAY YAY!  Ok, must sleep!

Pregnancy Cravings!

Hello All, (sorry Rach, I hope you still love me) I had a really strange craving today, not for food... for a new do! We were cleaning like mad-men, preparing for the big Birthday this Saturday, when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and decided I needed a change! And... I LOVE IT!!!!!  I always feel better after a little transformation.
